What Is Energy Healing — and Could It Be the Missing Piece for You?

Maybe a friend mentioned it. Maybe you’ve been scrolling at 11pm, searching for something — anything — that might help you feel less stuck, less drained, less like you’re doing all the right things and still not quite okay.

And now you’re here, asking the same question that almost every woman asks before her very first session:

What actually is energy healing?

It’s a fair question. And I want to answer it in a way that’s both honest and genuinely useful — whether you’re completely new to this or you’ve been quietly curious for a while and just haven’t known where to start.

So what is energy healing, really?

At its core, energy healing is a holistic practice that works with the body’s energetic field — sometimes called the biofield, the aura, or simply your energy — to support healing on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.

The underlying premise is something that both ancient wisdom traditions and modern science agree on: everything is energy. Your body, your thoughts, your emotions, your lived experiences — they all carry an energetic charge. And when you go through painful experiences, develop beliefs that hold you back, or carry wounds you’ve never fully processed, that energy can become stuck or blocked in your body and energy system.

Energy healing works to find and release those stuck places — restoring flow, balance, and vitality so that your whole being can begin to move toward wholeness.

“But is it real?”

I love this question. My background is in clinical psychology, so I understand the impulse to ask for evidence before diving into something that might feel unfamiliar or even a little “out there.”

Here’s what I know: while the research on energy healing is still evolving, there is growing scientific support for its benefits — particularly around stress reduction, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing. Reiki, one of the most well-known forms of energy healing, has been studied in clinical settings including hospitals, and has shown meaningful results in reducing anxiety and supporting post-operative recovery.

But beyond the research, what I’ve witnessed in session after session — with women just like you — is that something genuinely shifts. People leave feeling lighter. More clear-headed. More themselves. Like something that was heavy has been gently lifted.

That’s not nothing. In fact, for a lot of women, that’s everything.

What does an energy healing session actually look like?

Every practitioner works a little differently, but in my sessions, here’s what you can expect:

We begin with a grounding practice to help you arrive fully — mind, body, and spirit. From there, I work intuitively with your energy field using Reiki and Seichem (an ancient Egyptian healing modality that works with the elemental energies of Earth, Fire, Water, and Spirit) to identify areas of stagnation or imbalance and support their release. I’ll often receive intuitive guidance during the session and share that with you, too.

You might feel warmth, tingling, emotional release, deep relaxation, or simply a quiet sense of peace. Some women feel a profound shift right away. Others notice the changes unfolding over the days that follow — more clarity, more ease, a heaviness they didn’t even realize they’d been carrying suddenly gone.

Who is energy healing for?

Energy healing is for you if:

  • You feel emotionally stuck and can’t quite figure out why

  • You’re moving through grief, heartbreak, burnout, or a major life transition

  • You feel disconnected from yourself, your intuition, or your sense of purpose

  • You’ve done talk therapy or self-help work and want something that addresses the deeper energetic layer

  • You’re open to healing that goes beyond the mental and emotional — and into the spiritual

You don’t have to be deeply spiritual to benefit from energy healing. You just have to be open to the possibility that there’s more to you than what you can see and touch.

A personal note

I came to energy healing through my own journey of burnout and misalignment. I had the career, the social life, all the external markers of success — and I felt profoundly unfulfilled. It was through releasing my own energetic blocks with energy healing that everything began to shift: my relationships, my sense of purpose, my capacity for joy.

That experience is why I do this work. And it’s why I know — in my bones — that it’s real.

If you feel called to experience energy healing for yourself, I’d love to hold that space for you. Explore my energy healing sessions here.
