What Is a Goddess Circle — and Why Every Woman Should Experience One

The first time I participated in a women’s circle, I didn’t know quite what to expect. I walked in curious and a little uncertain, and I walked out feeling something I hadn’t felt in a long time: seen. Held. Connected — to other women, and to a deep, ancient part of myself I hadn’t known I’d been missing.

That experience changed everything for me. And it’s a big part of why I now host Goddess Circles of my own.

If you’ve been curious about what a Goddess Circle actually is — or you’ve seen it mentioned and felt a little flutter of intrigue — this post is for you.

So what is a Goddess Circle?

A Goddess Circle is a gathering of women who come together with intention — to connect, to heal, to celebrate, to remember. It draws from ancient traditions of women’s circles that have existed across virtually every culture throughout human history. In the ancient world, women gathered. They told stories. They supported one another through the rhythms of life. They honored the sacred feminine.

A Goddess Circle revives that — in a contemporary, accessible, and deeply meaningful way.

Within the circle, women are invited to connect with the energy and wisdom of the Goddesses — the divine feminine archetypes that appear across mythology and spiritual traditions: Isis, Aphrodite, Lakshmi, Artemis, Mother Mary, and countless others. Each Goddess carries specific qualities, medicine, and gifts. Working with their energy helps us awaken those same qualities within ourselves.

I came to the Goddess as a young girl, captivated by the myths of Egypt, Greece, and Rome. What began as childhood fascination became the center of my doctoral dissertation in clinical psychology — I wrote about women’s relationship to the Divine Feminine — and eventually led me on pilgrimage to temple ruins in Egypt. Working with Goddess energy has been incredibly transformative and sharing her with other women is one of the deepest honors of my life.

What actually happens inside a Goddess Circle?

Every circle is a little different, but in mine, here’s what you can typically expect:

Sacred space opening. We begin by intentionally creating a container — a grounding practice, a centering ritual, or a meditation that helps everyone arrive fully and leave the outside world behind.

Introduction to the Goddess of the evening. Each circle is centered around a specific Goddess archetype. I share her mythology, her qualities, and the medicine she brings — and we explore how her energy is alive in our own lives right now.

Energy healing or activation. We work with guided Goddess meditations, Goddess energy activations, and healing practices that help you actually feel and embody the Goddess’s energy — not just understand it intellectually.

Sharing and reflection. Women share what came up for them — insights, emotions, intentions. This is always optional and always honored. You will never be put on the spot. But the sharing that happens organically in these spaces is often the most powerful part of the evening.

Oracle card pulls and guidance. I often pull oracle cards for the group, channeling collective guidance from the Goddesses for what the women in the room most need to hear.

Closing ritual. We close the circle with intention, sealing the energy and anchoring the experience before we return to the world.

Why women keep coming back

After attending her first circle, one participant shared: “I went in with the intention of learning more about individual Goddess energies, and was left with an incredibly strong sense of my own divine femininity. Liz woke up parts of my own Goddess energy that are so grateful to have a light shined on them.”

Another woman wrote: “I came into it not knowing what to expect and I walked away with so many tools to assist me in my healing journey. She allows her intuition to guide her and she is such an inspiration.”

What keeps women returning isn’t just the content — it’s the feeling of the container. There is something deeply nourishing about being in a space with other women who are on a path of healing, growth, and spiritual awakening. Women who get it.

Who is a Goddess Circle for?

Goddess Circles are for any woman who is curious, open-hearted, and ready to remember who she really is. You don’t need prior spiritual experience. You don’t need to know anything about Goddesses. You just need a willingness to show up and receive.

These gatherings are especially beautiful for women who feel disconnected from their feminine energy or inner power, who are craving community with like-minded women, who feel called by the Goddess or who want to explore their spirituality in a warm and welcoming environment, or who simply feel called — and have learned to trust that feeling.
